Happy Giving Tuesday!

2025 has been a big year for On the Ground Global (OTG). Thanks to our many generous supporters, we have been able to enroll 250 women and 219 of their husbands in our Gender Equity Program this year in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and support 40 students, many orphaned by violence or climate change impacts, to attend school. While we are proud of this support, we know we are far from meeting the full scope of need in the farming communities where we work. In addition to continued violence instigated by the M23 terrorist group and lack of basic infrastructure, such as education, healthcare, and clean water, our coffee farming partners face continued climate change challenges threatening their crops. Experts predict that rising temperatures will reduce the area suitable for growing coffee up to 50% by 2050.

Every year we seek to grow our support to meet more of this need. The closing of USAID has made the situation only more dire. A successful Giving Tuesday campaign can help us grow our support in 2026 where it’s needed most. We can continue another year of our Gender Equity Program, we can enroll more students in school, we can even launch new programs in new countries. There is so much need. Can you help us?

A successful campaign also helps us focus on longer term opportunities for larger and institutional gifts; with short term urgent fundraising needs met. We are actively strategizing and planning for significant growth, with 2026 being a pivotal year to make this possible.
